Natural Setting

Belle Mount is a treasure with many unique features. Approximately 300 years ago the Rappahannock Indians enjoyed life along our shore on Cat Point Creek. In 1707 King George granted Belle Mount to Dr. Joseph Belfield for his services in the British Navy. Belle Mount Plantation has a rich history and many members of the Belfield family still live in the Northern Neck region. Nearby, you'll find the towns of Warsaw and Tappahannock with shopping, dining and more entertainment activities. We can help arrange for tours of The Menokin Ruins, George Washington's and Robert E. Lee's birthplace or Historic Christ Church.
